Pound Cake is perfect for a light snack in the afternoon, or a little later with tea Easy to make and a real pleasure to eat.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 4 cups Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Butter
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 6 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Flavouring Extract

How To Make

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix together the sugar and butter until they reach a creamy consistency.
  2. Beat the eggs and add to the mixture, stirring continuously.
  3. Sieve in the flour gradually. Then add the salt and baking powder, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Finally, add the flavouring extract and mix well.
  5. Put the mix into a loaf pan. You can glaze with butter or sugar if desired.
  6. Place in a preheated oven at a medium heat for about 40 minutes, or until it looks baked.
  7. Best served fresh and heated from the oven. Slice the loaf up and get stuck in with plenty of butter and your favourite jam!
