This Cinnamon Cake Recipe is a real favourite around these parts - folk just love it! Great at any time of the year, the taste and aroma of Cinnamon Cake really lends itself to Christmas.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Demerera Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tbl Butter
  • 1 tbl Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 Large Egg
  • Yeast

How To Make

  1. Taking a large bowl, mix the milk, sugar and yeast together thoroughly. Let it rise for about 40 minutes.
  2. Add the beaten egg, creamed sugar, salt and enough flour to knead into a dough.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and level out. Let it rise in a warm place for a couple of hours.
  4. Brush some beaten egg onto the top of the cake. Then generously sprinkle the top of the cake with cinnamon and sugar.
  5. Place in a preheated oven at about 350 F until baked.
  6. Serve up warm with plenty of butter and jam or a dollup of fresh cream!
