Cherry Cake is simply devine, you'll love it! Induldge with big thick slices, plenty of butter and a hearty cup of your favourite Irish tea!
Recipe Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/3 cups Milk
- 2 cups Walnuts (Chopped)
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 lb Cherries (Pitted)

How To Make
- Using a bowl, mix the baking powder, salt and flour together.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, lemon and sugar until a think consistency. Then add in the milk, melted butter and vanilla. Stir well.
- Fold in the pitted cherries, saving a handful for the top of the cake.
- Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and level out.
- Cut the leftover cherries in half and place on the top of the cake.
- Place in a preheated oven at 350 F for about 45 minutes.
- Serve up warm with plenty of butter and jam!
