Irish Wheaten Bread tastes great with marmalade, jam or cheddar cheese. Toast it with breakfast, add some thick cheese and pickle for a filling sandwich. It's a versatile and truly delightful bread.
Recipe Ingredients
- 4 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
- 2 tbl of sugar
- 1 1/2 tbl baking soda
- 1 tbl salt, for seasoning

How To Make
- Preheat your oven to 350 F and butter up a medium sized loaf pan.
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, salt and sugar in a bowl.
- All all of the buttermilk and mix thoroughly until it reaches a doughy substance.
- Using a lightly floured surface, kneed the dough.
- Place the dough in the buttered pan and bake for roughly 50 mins.
- Take out of the oven and let it cool.
- Slice and serve. Perfect with your favourite Irish tea.
