Hot Cross Buns are devine when heated and served with a spread of butter and strawberry jam. Brilliant at any time of the day, these hearty Hot Cross Buns will go down a treat!
Recipe Ingredients
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 cup Dried Currants
- 2/3 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Warm Water
- 1/2 cup Dried Currants
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 Large Egg (Beaten)
- 1 tbl Yeast
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg

How To Make
- Using a good sized bowl, mix together the currants, sugar, butter, eggs with a generous sprinkling of spices.
- Add in the flour to the mixture and knead into a dough.
- Divide the dough up into bun-sized pieces and set them onto a baking tray. Let them rise for about 45 minutes.
- Take a sharp knife and mark a cross on the top of each bun.
- Place in an oven at 450 F for about 20 minutes, or until browned off.
- Serve fresh and warm with plenty of butter!
