When tea was first introduced it was not only a refreshing taste, but because it was drank hot tea was also safe. Make no mistake, this was a very big change. In England many people had no choice but to drink ale with their breakfast, now tea was a healthy, tasty, and above all, safe choice. However, tea was set to run into growing opposition.
