Green TeaThere is a difference between black tea and green tea, which is brought about in the processing stage of manufacture. Green tea, such as our Organic Green Tea, is made from the same tea leaves used to make your typical cup of black tea (Camillia sinensis), but the difference in the properties between the two teas occurs specifically in the drying stage.

When tea leaves used to produce standard black tea are dried they are allowed to oxidize, the side effect of this being that the powerful antioxidants present in the leaves are converted to less active agents. When drying leaves for use in green tea the antioxidants remain intact, and are therefore consumed when drinking the tea.

But the party doesn't stop there! Green tea also has high levels of theanine, polyphenols with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals complimenting this healthy brew. This particular blend has been traditionally drank in Asian countries and has been shown to lower the risks of contracting cancerous tumours, the common cold and flu as well as lowering both cholesterol and sugar in the blood. In other words, Green tea is good for you!
